Superstition Peak

Superstition Peak (or Superstition Mountains, 5057 ft / 1541 m) is located about 30 miles east of Phoenix. It can be climbed by class 2 routes from either the east or west. The east side has Native American Petroglyphics, which I couldn't find. Also see Cactii in the Superstiion Mountains Area.

Two Bighorn Sheep

I surprised these bighorn when I came up over a ridge on the south slope of Superstition. They hung around for about a minute.

Desert Aster

It was amazing to see these still in flower in November. Taken on the southern slopes of Superstition.

Balancing Rock on the East Side of Superstition

When you see this rock from the Hieroglyphics Trail head up the slope to the east along a ducked route. Gain the ridge to the east of the peak and follow it to the top.
