On the last weekend of every month Da Jue Temple holds a Great Compassion Repentance Ceremony. I visited Da Jue Temple over the weekend on March 26-27. I caught the overnight train from Beijing to Shanghai. In Shanghai I took the bus with fellow Foguang Shan people, including Venerable Miao You, to Da Jue Temple.

Getting some coaching for the Great Compassion Repentance Ceremony. The ceremony lasts for three hours and mostly consists of chanting sutras written in classical Chinese and matras that are Chinese phoentic translations of the Sanskrit original versions.
